Chimps embrace grass-in-ear look

A Zambian Chimpanzee called Julie is something of a trendsetter. In 2010 she put a piece of grass in her ear. No-one knows why as it served no useful purpose. But soon all the other chimps were doing it. The fashion spread from one group to another until everyone was doing it (I guess that’s when it became uncool).

The phenomenon suggest that chimps have fashion culture just like humans.
